As Season 6 presses on in Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games continues to bring a variety of different changes to the free-to-play game’s map, with the studio now seemingly bringing an end to the content cycle of the mystery cube, as deepening cracks have developed on it. What’s more is that the developer keeps adding even more objects and items for players to use, with Epic having recently confirmed the decision to add Balloons to the title.
As seen in the screenshot below, Fortnite Battle Royale’s in-game Message of the Day indicates that Balloons are going to be added quite soon, and it appears as if they will bring about the ability for players to float in the air to certain destinations. According to the item’s description, one can “inflate balloons to defy gravity” in order to “increase your altitude”, which denotes that players could potentially rise higher and faster with multiple balloons in tow.
As of now, though, Fortnite fans will simply have to wait and see how Balloons work as an item in Battle Royale, but it looks as if Epic definitely intended for Balloons to arrive in the game just in time for Halloween. Once added, the items ought to pair up well visually the Clown cosmetics that were recently brought to the game. Of course, all players will be able to use Balloons, but their multi-colored designs should complement the Clown skins.
While the incorporation of Balloons to Fortnite Battle Royale should please those looking for more ways to vertically traverse the map, players can always utilize more traditional methods of travel, with Epic having added the four-wheeled Quadcrasher not too long ago. So, taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see if the studio continues to add even more modes of transportation in the future.
Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
