Fortnite season 8 has finally arrived, ushering in new major map changes, a new Battle Pass, and a new set of challenges. Among the season 8 week 1 challenges, players are tasked with visiting a giant face in the desert, jungle, and snow biomes of the map, so follow this guide to find them.
While players are likely familiar with the desert and snow biomes, the new jungle biome was heralded in with the emergence of the volcano, Sunny Steps, and Lazy Lagoon. Knowing/learning these biomes will help with this Fortnite challenge, but so will knowing what to look for. Essentially, these giant faces are carved into rocks and glaciers.
The desert face can be found due south of Paradise Palms, on the very edge of the Fortnite map. It will be high on a cliff edge and may require some creativity to get to. The jungle face (seen below) is between Lazy Lagoon and Loot lake, on the edge of the jungle biome. Unlike the desert face, it is on a some rocks close to the ground, so it’s slightly easier to find. The snow face is east of Happy Hamlet and somewhat harder to identify than the other two, so keep those eyes peeled.
Knowing what to look for is half the battle, but knowing where to search is the other. With the exception of the jungle face, this challenge benefits from being based around the edges of the map, so it’s not as hard to identify the locations. Luckily, this can be narrowed down further with a good map.
Once this is complete, players will find themselves one step closer to earning the first hidden battle star of the season. Doing so early will also help rank up the Battle Pass, earn some XP, and give players time to explore the island and all its new offerings such as the Pirate Cannon before the week 2 challenges go live next week.
Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
