Fortnite Volcano Event Time: When the Volcano Erupts

Fortnite Volcano Event Time: When the Volcano Erupts

Fortnite is known for capping off its in-game seasons with elaborate events that permanently alter the battle royale map. This season has a couple of things going on, like a mysterious vault opening in Loot Lake, but what Fortnite fans are focused on today is the imminent eruption of the volcano in the northeast section of the map.

A timer has appeared in Fortnite, signaling that the Fortnite volcano event is getting ready to kick off. Like past events, those who are actually in-game will be able to witness the event in real-time and see how the Fortnite volcano eruption alters the battle royale map. Anyone that wants to witness the Fortnite volcano event will want to be in-game by 12pm PT/2pm CT/3pm ET. They are free to stand near the volcano to watch it erupt, or they can visit one of the locations that will supposedly be changed by the blast.

According to datamines and leaks, there are at least three locations that are going to be changed by the Fortnite volcano event. Those locations are Retail Row, Tilted Towers, and Polar Peak. The destruction of Tilted Towers is especially significant as Epic has teased in the past that the area, arguably the most popular place to land on the battle royale map, has been on the chopping block, so it will be interesting to see it finally leave the game.

Additionally, the Loot Lake vault or spaceship, or whatever it is, is also expected to do something during the event. The in-game timer is actually near this area, not the volcano, and so Fortnite players may want to visit there instead.

Regardless of where players are while the Fortnite volcano event is live, they shouldn’t have to worry about being killed by anyone trying to ruin their time. Starting with the Marshmello concert eventFortnite has made it so players have a window of invincibility when viewing in-game events, and it’s assumed the same will go for the Fortnite volcano event.

So as long as players are in a game around 12pm PT/2pm CT/3pm ET, they should be able to witness the map-changing Fortnite volcano event with no problem.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
