Does Fortnite Season 9 Week 2 Have A Battle Star?

Does Fortnite Season 9 Week 2 Have A Battle Star?

For multiple seasons now, Fortnite players have been completing their weekly challenges and then deciphering loading screen for clues as to where to find secret battle stars and banners. Fortnite season 9 week 1 had a secret battle star, and so many fans assumed season 9 week 2 would at least have a hidden banner. However, it turns out that it does not, and instead, it just shows fans of the battle royale game where to find a Fortbyte.

The clue isn’t even found in the loading screen image, but rather in its description. The description of the Neochasers loading screen that players unlock after completing the season 9 week 2 challenges says, “Last seen battling at Dino Park outhouse, these two can’t be stopped.” This should lead players to the southeastern part of the map, in the desert biome, where a port-a-potty can be found.

The Fortbyte is the port-a-potty itself, and it can actually be collected before players complete the season 9 week 2 challenges. In fact, some Fortnite players have reported collecting the Fortbyte right when season 9 started, and so they will have nothing extra to collect after completing the season 9 week 2 challenges.

This seems to be an indication that Epic Games is doing away with the secret banners, and will instead use every other loading screen to lead players to Fortbytes. However, that’s just speculation at this time, and it’s possible that the studio will mix things up as season 9 progresses.

Some Fortnite players may be confused as to what Fortbytes are, and they’re basically just a new kind of collectible in the game. There are 100 Fortbytes hidden around the battle royale map, and collecting them will unlock special rewards as well as the “secrets of season 9,” according to Epic Games.

It will be interesting to see how the Fortnite community reacts to season 9 week 2 diverting from the usual secret banner reward. After all, those who already found this Fortbyte may be a little disappointed that they don’t have a bonus reward to chase after completing the season 9 week 2 challenges. On the bright side, they should have a secret battle star to find next week.

Fortnite is out now in early access for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
